What happened to my ear?

my ear was hurting for about a week. Pain was not too bad, but it bothered me after a few days. a few days later, i was sitting on the couch. And all of a sudden..BOOM! my ear felt like it closed up and my hearing got completely deaf. I was able to pull on my ear, then my hearing came back. Then my hearing would go out again. Pain was starting to get pretty harsh. The next day, my ear still started closing up, but now, i had to put my thumb in my ear and yank it out in order to get my hearing back. my hearing was fine, untill that night, it closed up again, and i couldnt retrieve it. i tried over and over. Then, the pain was incredibly bad. i didnt sleep that whole night. the next day i went to the doctor and he said i had swimmers ear, but i cant find anywhere on the internet where it says it completely inpairs your hearing. then i ran over "perforated eardrum" which does impair hearing and bleeds. but my ear does not bleed. The next day the pain was even worse. i was in extreme agony nearly screaming at the top of my lungs. The next day, after taking medicine, my pain is a little less. And now, my pain is almost completely soothed, and the swelling has deflated mostly. But my hearing is still completely impaired. What's happened?
